Hi all!
I hope everyone is having a great summer! I’ve been in contact with Dr. Barret who is one of the coordinators for the respiratory module and she sent me some info to relay to you. If you weren’t planning on thinking about school at all for the summer, then just stop reading here and open this up again during orientation…

2. ATTENDANCE POLICY
D. Attendance
Attendance is mandatory. Attendance will be checked at all small group conferences and the physiology laboratory. In addition, attendance will be spot checked in lectures (see below).
3. DATES FOR EXAMS, SMALL GROUPS
I can give you fairly certain dates for the exams and the basic science labs/small groups. Small group dates for the clinical section remain to be determined.
Course begins Mon. July 21.
A 3 hr laboratory will be given on Friday, July 25, with half the class coming in the morning, half in the afternoon.
Two Physiology small group problem-solving conferences will be held on Monday, July 28, occupying BOTH the morning and the afternoon.
The midterm exam is scheduled for Wednesday, July 30.
The final exam will be on Monday, August 18.
Midterm and final exams are weighted equally in determining final score.
4. Recommended preparation
Students should review their cardiovascular notes, since they will be expected to retain and apply this knowledge in the Respiratory Module.
Students could also begin reading the Respiratory texts. This is especially important for students whose quantitative and physics backgrounds are weak.
…As always, feel free to relay any questions or concerns to me.
